Proceeds benefit Inner City Youth Opportunities, a Cincinnati-based 501c3 non-profit founded in 1993 teaching the sport of tennis, along with a focus on academic support and youth development programs, to teach life skills and narrow the education gap among Cincinnati’s low-income children.
“BLAST FROM THE PAST” is a private collection of tennis memorabilia donated to Inner City Youth Opportunities by a local tennis pro, long-time Cincinnati tennis enthusiast and supporter of ICYO.
The collection includes, and raffle winner will receive all items listed below:
International Hall of Farmer Rod Laver won the Grand Slam of tennis (Australian, French, Wimbledon, U.S.Open) two times in 1962 and 1969, the only player to do this tremendous feat.
Cincinnati’s own Tony Trabert 1953 and 1955 World number one! Trabert is in the International Hall of Fame and grew up playing at Cincinnati Tennis Club.
Excellent tennis book from 1988 by Tony Trabert. This book gives a great inside look at the professional game.
